History of Saint Anthony de Padua
Patron Saint of lost lovers: St. Anthony was born Fernando Martins to a wealthy family in Lisbon, Portugal in 1195. He entered the Augustinian monastery at the age of 15. After two years he was transferred to the motherhouse of the congregation, the Abbey of Santa Cruz in Coimbra and was eventually ordained a priest. He died in Padua Italy and known for his powerful preaching, expert knowledge of scripture and love and devotion to the poor and the sick. He is the patron saint of lost love, lost souls and lost articles. Saint Anthony of Padua feast day June 13.
